Where is my art stored?
On your iPhone or iPad, in Art Keeper’s own storage. It isn’t uploaded to us, and we can’t see it.
If your device backs up to iCloud or to a computer, that backup includes Art Keeper’s pictures and stories too.
What happens if I delete the app or get a new phone?
Deleting Art Keeper removes everything it keeps on that device. We can’t recover it for you, because we don’t have a copy.
To move to a new phone, set it up from an iCloud or computer backup of your old one. Art Keeper’s content comes with the backup.
It’s also a good idea to use Settings > Export everything from time to time, so you have your own copy of every piece and story to keep anywhere you like. Art Keeper doesn’t read an export back in, so for moving phones, use your device backup.
How do I share or print a piece?
- Open the piece and tap Share.
- You’ll see exactly what will be sent, including a short caption with your child’s first name. Their age is added only if you turn it on.
- Tap Share… and choose where it goes, like Messages, Mail or Files.
To print, open the piece, tap Print, then Print at home, and choose Print in the share sheet.
How do I export everything?
- On the home screen, tap Settings (the sliders button).
- Tap Export everything. Art Keeper counts your pieces and stories and shows how big the export will be.
- Tap Export… and choose where to save it: Files, AirDrop to a Mac, or a cloud drive.
You get a zip file with every piece full size and every story, in a folder for each child and school year, plus a details file you can open in Numbers or Excel. A very large export comes in several parts, saved one after another. Your phone needs some free space while it works, and Art Keeper tells you if there isn’t enough.
Do I need an account?
No. You don’t need an account to use Art Keeper. Open the app and start scanning.
How do I delete a piece or a child?
A piece: open it, tap More (the … button), then Delete piece.
A child: open their collection (from the home screen or Settings), tap Edit (the pencil), then Remove and their name. This also removes the pieces that belong only to that child. Pieces shared with another child stay with them.
Either way, Undo appears for a few seconds in case you change your mind.
What about privacy?
Your art stays on your device until you choose to share it. There are no ads, no tracking and no analytics, in the app or on this website. The privacy policy has the details.
