Art Keeper

Art Keeper Terms of Use

Effective: October 2026

Welcome to Art Keeper. These terms are the agreement between you and the person who makes Art Keeper. We've tried to keep them short and plain. When you tap "I agree" in the app, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

Art Keeper is made by Jason Sanio, an individual developer in Washington State, USA ("we", "us"). You can reach us at support@artkeeper.app.

2. Who can use Art Keeper

Art Keeper is made for parents, guardians and other grown-ups who keep a child's art and schoolwork. You need to be an adult (18 or older, or the age of majority where you live) to agree to these terms. Children can take part, for example by telling the story of a drawing, but only with you and on your device.

3. What Art Keeper does today

Art Keeper lets you scan or import your child's art and schoolwork, label it, record your child telling its story, share a piece, print it at home, and export everything.

Everything you add stays on your device. Art Keeper doesn't send your art, photos, recordings or details to us. We have no account system and no servers for your content. If your device makes its own backup (for example iCloud Backup or a backup to your computer), your Art Keeper content may be included in that backup. Apple's terms and your backup settings govern those backups, not ours.

4. Your content stays yours

What you add to Art Keeper (art, schoolwork, photos, voice and video recordings, names, notes) is yours, or your family's. We claim no ownership of it and no license to it, and we never receive it.

5. Rules for what you add and share

These are the same rules you agreed to in the app:

  • Only add things you have the right to keep, such as your family's own artwork, schoolwork, photos, voices and videos.
  • Never use Art Keeper for anything illegal. That includes anything that exploits or harms a child, or copies someone else's copyrighted work.
  • You're responsible for what you add and what you share. We don't see or check what you add.
  • Respect other people. If a piece or a recording includes another child or another family, think about whether they'd be happy for you to share it.

6. Keeping your things safe

Because your content lives only on your device:

  • We can't recover it for you. If you delete Art Keeper, lose your device, or it stops working, your content is gone unless you have a backup or an export.
  • Back up and export. We recommend turning on your device's backup and using Settings > Export everything from time to time.
  • Deleting is up to you. You can delete a piece, a child, or the whole app at any time.

7. Sharing, printing and exporting

When you share, print or export, Art Keeper opens your device's share sheet and you choose where it goes (for example Messages, Mail, Files, a printer, or another app). After that, the rules of that app or service apply, and so do the choices of the people you share with. A shared piece includes a short caption, for example "Blast off" by Norah. Kept with Art Keeper: artkeeper.app. You can see it before you send. By default it shows only your child's first name. Your child's age is added only if you turn it on.

8. Price

Art Keeper is free to download and use today. There are no ads.

9. Our app and name

Art Keeper's software, design and name belong to us. You may use the app for your own personal, family use. Please don't copy, resell, or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

10. No guarantees

We work hard to make Art Keeper reliable, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises (warranties) beyond those in these terms. That includes promises that it will be error-free, always available, or that your content can't be lost. Some places don't allow certain warranties to be excluded. If that's the case where you live, those exclusions don't apply to you.

11. Limit on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for lost content, lost data, or indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Art Keeper. Our total liability to you for any claim about the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

12. If things go wrong

You agree to cover our reasonable costs if someone makes a claim against us because of content you added or shared in breach of these terms, or because you broke the law using Art Keeper.

13. Ending

You can stop using Art Keeper at any time by deleting it. We may change or stop offering Art Keeper, or parts of it. If we stop offering it, the app on your device may keep working, but we can't promise updates. Sections 4, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15 and 16 continue to apply after you stop using Art Keeper.

14. App Store terms

You got Art Keeper from Apple's App Store, so these points apply as well:

  • These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for Art Keeper and its content.
  • Your license to use Art Keeper is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement and the App Store's usage rules. If these terms and Apple's conflict, Apple's prevail on the points Apple's agreement covers.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for Art Keeper. For help, contact us.
  • If Art Keeper fails to meet a warranty that applies by law, you may tell Apple, and Apple may refund the price you paid (if any). Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, Apple has no warranty obligation for Art Keeper.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims about Art Keeper. That includes product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection or privacy claims, and claims that it infringes someone's intellectual property.
  • You confirm that you're not located in a country under a US government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you're not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • When you use Art Keeper, you must also follow the terms of any third-party service you use with it (for example your mobile carrier, or the apps you share to).
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you.

15. Washington law and disputes

Washington State law and applicable US federal law govern these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute can't be resolved by talking to us first at support@artkeeper.app, it will be decided in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and you and we agree to those courts' jurisdiction. If you're a consumer living outside the US, you may also have the right to bring a claim in the courts where you live, and you keep any protection your local law gives you that can't be waived by contract.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when Art Keeper gets new features. We'll change the "Effective" date above. If a change is important, we'll ask you to agree again in the app before you continue using it. If you don't agree, you can stop using Art Keeper and delete it. Your content stays on your device either way.

17. The rest

If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part straight away, we can still enforce it later. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Art Keeper. You can't transfer them to someone else. We can transfer them, for example if Art Keeper moves to a company we set up, as long as your rights stay the same.
